Lyle Kruger, the Johannesburg-based a fantasy football veteran in his 11th season is the Diski101 FL Game Week 2 winner and he shared a few insights about the beautiful game with Diski101.
The 31-year old racked up 76 points in game week 1 and 74 points in game week 2 with a total of 150 points.
Who is Lyle Kruger?
My name is Lyle Kruger, I am 31 years old, I live in Johannesburg. I am a family man first and foremost and work for a popular print publication. I love football and sports in general. Nothing better than going to the bar enjoying a few cold ones while the ball is on.
You are a veteran fantasy football manager, how has it been for you? Lessons?
Hahaha, well this is my 11th season of fantasy football I was there when Henry and Robin Van Persie were both 14M (totally worth it by the way). Things come and go in my life but my love for fantasy football will never change. It’s been a pleasure to experience the league this way, you get to appreciate the ‘stokes’ and the ‘Leeds’ of this world, especially when a player you own scores a double against your favourite team, there’s nothing quite like it.
You managed to a total of 74 points in GW2 and now you have a total of 150 points with Favour Popoola right 4 points how does that make you feel?
I think it’s important to start well, but it’s much more important to finish better. So I’m extremely happy with my start and I’m looking forward to kicking on from here. Hopefully, Favour Popoola will forget to make changes for next gw. Hahahaha
What’s your draft process?
Well, I visit fantasy football scout often and subscribe to a few popular fantasy managers on YouTube. But ultimately when you start you have to consider total ownership and make choices as to who you would like in your team and who you wouldn’t. Some make the wait and see a list which I put into my watchlist.
Any tips/last pointers?
Remember that is a marathon and not a sprint, use your transfers sparingly. And lastly, differentials will make all the difference when you are chasing the game.
