Premier Soccer League has released the list of suspended players for this weekend.
Kaizer Chiefs central defender Mulomowandau Mathoho is also suspended for their game this Saturday at 15h30 against Golden Arrows. arrows also have Divine Lunga suspended for this weekend.
Suspension of Tower Mathoho is most likely going to bring headache to Coach Gavin Hunt, whose team is struggling to prevent goals. Mathoho is an experienced central defender and his height comes as an advantage for the aerial balls as he is a good header as well.
Kaizer Chiefs conceded 7 goals in the 3 MTN8 games, 6 of those were conceded against their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in a 2 games based semi finals. Chiefs only managed to score 2 goals against Maritzburg United in the quarter finals of the MTN8.
In the DStv Premiership, Amakhosi opened the league with a 3 -0 thrashing but the current league champions Mamelodi Sundowns, and went to beat Chippa united 1 – 0 (an own goal scored by Chippa United) and they played to a goal-less draw with rookies TS Galaxy. This demonstrate that Chiefs might have facing challenges in the both ends of the field, defence and striking force. Glamour boys are not scoring goals but conceding goals in buckets.
Gavin Hunt would have to work on his back 4 defenders, and include the goalkeepers in these conversation as both Itumeleng Khune and Daniel Akpeyi have suffered a 3 goals against them individually.
Other players suspended are Tebogo Makobela (Black Leopards) and Riyaaz Ismael and Sibusiso Hlubi (Both from Maritzburg United)
