Arthur Zwane says he knew that accepting the Kaizer Chiefs head coach job was going to test his character.
Zwane was handed the reigns at the beginning of the season and Chiefs have been blowing hot and cold under his leadership.
After being knocked out of the MTN8 by AmaZulu on the weekend of the 23rd of October, Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby the following weekend.
“It was quite tough, very stressful. But that was understandable, at the same time, it comes with the demands of being the coach of Chiefs,” Zwane said.
“So luckily for me, I grew up in this environment. As a player, and now as a coach, I think I’ve seen it all and experienced a lot of things in the period.
“When I was given the opportunity, I expected such things to happen. I knew it wasn’t going to be rosy, and my character was going to be tested as well.
“It was also going to improve my intelligence. I am where I am because of a lot of people that played a role in helping me to be the person that I am.”
Meanwhile, Chiefs will be looking to do a double over Pirates when the sides meet in a Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.
