USA’s aim is to fight to win the World Cup, says Pulisic

USA captain Christian Pulisic says the team’s aims are to go and compete with the best teams in the world and to fight to win the FIFA World Cup.

Pulisic’s side starts their group campaign with a clash against Wales on Monday evening.

“It’s never going to be easy of course, but I think if we play the way we know we’re capable of, and with a lot of confidence and fight in us, once you get to those knockout stages anything can happen. We’re going to really fight. We want to be a big part of this World Cup,” says Pulisic.

The Chelsea star is banking on his coach Gregg Berhalter to guide the US young side to glory in Qatar.

“Gregg is a really good player-coach. The guys really want to play for him, push for him, work hard and play hard as a team. I think he does a really good job of motivating the players. In that sense I think he does a great job. He creates a really good environment for us to want to go out to compete and win together.”
