Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi says he would love to add a quality player like Oswin Appollis to his star-studded squad.
The Brazilians become the latest big club to show interest in the Polokwane City and Bafana Bafana winger after Kaizer Chiefs and Tunisian giants Esperance.
Speaking after his side’s 2-0 win over SuperSport United in a Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday night, Mngqithi said he would love to have a top player like Appollis in his squad.
“I would love to get any top player and Appollis is one of the players I like, but I think many coaches would say the same thing, you don’t always get what you want in life, because we already have around 40 players,” said Mngqithi.
“But it will be important to get a player like that, if an opportunity avails itself, but I don’t think it will avail itself because I know Esperance was interested in him and couldn’t get hold of him, so I wouldn’t want to talk much about something, that this stage is immaterial for me,” he added.
Appollis scored seven goals and made five assists in 32 games for Rise and Shine last season.
