Manchester United have announced that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club.
Van Nistelrooy, who is one of the club’s legends, leaves the Red Devils along with other members of the coaching staff following the arrival of new manager Ruben Amorim on Monday.
The 48-year-old arrived at the beginning of the season as an assistant to Erik ten Hag, and then became interim head coach at Old Trafford when the Dutchman departed on 28 October.
In a statement, United thanked Van Nistelrooy for his contribution to the club.
“Manchester United can confirm that Ruud van Nistelrooy has left the club,” read the club statement.
“Ruud rejoined in the summer and has taken charge of the team for the past four matches as interim head coach.
“Ruud is, and always will be, a Manchester United legend.
“We are grateful for his contribution and the way in which he has approached his role throughout his time with the club. He will always be very welcome at Old Trafford.
“Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar and Pieter Morel have also departed and we wish them all well for the future.
“We will confirm the full men’s first-team coaching composition in due course.”
Meanwhile, Monday marked Ruben Amorim’s first day in charge of Man United following his appointment from Portuguese side Sporting.
The 39-year-old arrives on the back of several impressive seasons in charge of Sporting, where he guided them to a first league title in 19 years in 2021 and then another last season.
