Coronavirus has led to the PSL being suspended for approximately 5 months. It has now been confirmed that games will resume tomorrow with Nedbank Cup Semi-finals doubleheader at Orlando Stadium, where Baroka will play Bloemfontein Celtic in the first game and Mamelodi Sundowns will play Bidvest Wits later on.
As from the 11th of August PSL league games will resume with Sundowns playing against their rival Orlando Pirates at 16h00.
Due to these delays brought in by Corona, PSL had to go and determine the new dates of the new season of 2020/2021 as well as the date for transfer markets. PSL Chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza announced on Friday that the new season (2020/2021) will resume on the 8th of October. The end of the season transfer window will be between 2 September and 2 October, and the mid-season transfer window will be from the 1st of February to the 1st of March 2021.
Dr. Khoza also confirmed that the promotion/relegation playoffs will take place between 6 and 21 September.
