Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 1-All draw by Bidvest Wits in the Chief’s first game post-Corona Virus soccer games suspension.
Amakhosi were threatening Wits from the moment the game started making their intentions obvious.
Amakhosi got their goal from Samir Nurkovic who scored with the header from the corner kick from Lebogang Manyama in the 36th minutes.
Nurkovic had another chance in the 40th minute to increase the scoreline, however, he missed that poles by a short margin.
Wits had a chance in the 45th minutes from a free-kick which hit Daniel Akpeyi on the chest and bounced off to Wits players who failed to capitalize on that opportunity.
Nurkovic hit a crossbar in the 87th minute of the game during the Chiefs counter attacker.
Cole Alexander equalized in the 89th minutes, after numerous attempts by Wits to find the back of the net.
Chiefs have 4 points more than their title chaser rivals Mamelodi Sundowns even though Sundowns’ still has one game in hand.
Samir Nurkovic was named the man of the match, and he stated that he is happy that the league has finally resumed however he is not happy with the draw.
Ernst Middendorp said he was concerned about the condition of his players especially since players such as Leonardo Castro and Kgotso Moleko showed signs of tiredness in the second half. He also stated that Chiefs needs to work on counter-attacks and transitions as he believes the team can do better.

Chiefs’ next game is against Polokwane City on Saturday at Loftus Stadium.
Chiefs has 13 goals attempts with 5 shots on target.
Wits coach Gavin Hunt said he was very disappointed, and he thinks Wits should have won the game. Hunt compared this game to the Saturday game where he also believes Wits should have got more than the actual score. He stated that he is content with the youngster that he brought into the game.
