The log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs suffered a big defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday evening. The Naturena side has made several comebacks in their recent matches but couldn’t do the magic this time. The loss of 3-1 loss to the Celtic side has created a six points gap between their close rival, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Amakhosi fans strongly believe that Ernst Middendorp’s boys will take the league and their commitment remains solid despite the setback. We chatted with Isaac Mangena and Daniel Shavhani, staunch Amakhosi Fans who share similar views with his fellow khosified fraternity.
“We remain undeterred if anything we are fired up for the next game so whoever the next opponent is should expect fireworks because we have seen where the problems lie. We will fix that, we will close the gaps and we will be sure that we are ruthless with another and the good thing is that even though we lost. Our closest rivals are not winning or it’s not like there’s any inch moving. So it’s not like we will lose it, we are still very much in contention, the league is there, it’s ours. it’s just a matter of two wins and we are done,” he said.
Isaac also added that Our closest rivals are Sundowns, they lost against Capetonians and they are expected to lose against Maritzburg which you know is also a hard team to beat and they actually went with Sundowns to the finals of a cup recently and they will do the job for Chiefs and then we will beat Sundowns and we have already done so twice this year so we will beat them again. Just for control, we will cruise to claim the cup so we are not deterred. So Pirates is way way way below our league so we don’t even talk about Pirates when we talk about contention for the PSL
“I think we have won this, It is coming to us. I do not see Sundowns winning all their games, just one slip up from Sundowns guarantees us and also the fact that we are really reaching the end of it. Only 4 to 5 games left and we still have six points more than Sundowns. This is quite tricky as everyone is fighting to survive so I don’t think both teams will win all their games. I think Sundowns is not going to catch up with Chiefs,” said Daniel Shavhani
Kaizer Chiefs will need to prepare for another match against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday evening.
