The penultimate fixture in the Absa Premiership begins today at 6 pm with all the 16 teams playing consecutively. The teams will play their last game in the same fashion at 3.30 pm (SAST) on the 5th of September, 2020.
The focus of the two games is on the title chasers and the relegation-threatened teams. Chippa United will take on Kaizer Chiefs with the hope of getting out of the danger zone because of the threats from Black Leopards, Amazulu, or Baroka.
Chippa United coach Lehlohonolo Seema is beyond optimistic about the game as they are hoping to walk out with three points from the game.
“You can see the Chiefs that played before the lockdown and the Chiefs playing now, I don’t know if it’s because of the pressure of the games running out, but you can see they are able to change during the game and play differently, ” said Seema.
Lehlohonolo also added, “If we can win this game, I’m sure then they [Chippa players] will be sure that, ja, now we can say we are safe for next season and we are sure that whatever happens in the last game we won’t be in the relegation dog fight.”
The log leaders, Amakhosi who have managed with one win in six matches since the resumption of the game will have to fight off the Chilli Boys without their Nigerian shot-stopper Akpeyi.
“The game is all level now, may the best team win as the top three teams equally have a chance in clinching the league title,” said soccer analyst.
The ABSA premiership soccer matches will be broadcasted on SuperSport at 6 pm ( SAST)
