KaizerChiefs fans had a problem with the fact that Amakhosi had a very predictable style of play, which was simply relying on the set pieces and aerial balls towards Samir Nukovic and hope for the goal. In an event that another team manages to prevent these set pieces, Chiefs would really struggle. Middendorp did not seem to have plan B even when he was under serious pressure.
There is some unconfirmed rumor that Chiefs might be interested in employing the same technical team as their rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, with 3 fully coaches working together. The reports are stating that this technical team might be led by Gavin Hunt, with Owen Da Gama and Benni McCarthy as the assistant coaches.
